Seasons

Seasons bring with them the challenge of adjusting along with the wisdom of resilience.

Yes, some parts of you may have fallen, like the autumn leaves, when whatever life storm cycloned across your path. But you remain, even if you feel like a shell of your glorious summer self, you remain.

I don’t know how people get through winter. For me, a little bit of escapism chasing the sun brings some hope. It might not be sunny here in England, FOR 6 MONTHS, but the sun is shining somewhere.

Truth is, it’s not always possible to chase the sun. Though, it is possible to remind ourselves of previous moments when we blossomed, those moments when we did something we never thought we could, those moments when a loved one said, ‘you mean so much to me’, the moments when we were kind enough to ourselves to stop and to heal.

The natural world around us testifies to its many healing mechanisms. Adrenaline is paired with noradrenaline. Cortisol is paired with oxytocin. The ageless plasticity of the brain.

Whether or not you believe in the intentional design within nature, its hopeful message is that there are many remedies.

The alchemy required in discovering your particular remedy will be your wisdom and your strength.

In the words of Paolo Coelho, my hope is that the universe conspires in your favour.

Be well,
